When your alarm nears its end of life it will let you know by beeping 2 times every 30 seconds. If you only hear one chirp every 30 seconds this may indicate that your alarm has on. It is time to replace the batteries in your carbon monoxide alarm.
This is also called End of Life.
If your detector or alarm has a blinking or steady light with no audible alarm sound this typically indicates that the unit is receiving power. For more information go to What are the causes of consistent chirping. If you only hear one chirp every 30 seconds this may indicate that your alarm has on. CO alarms need to be replaced every 7 years.
